American conductor Lee Mills makes his debut with the Naples Philharmonic in a program that highlights the beauty and energy of dance music. Bernstein’s uplifting Symphonic Dances from West Side Story includes all of the power, jazz and fun that made West Side Story one of the most influential musicals of the 20th century. The program also includes virtuoso French pianist Jean-Yves Thibaudet performing Tango Manos, a new piano concerto by American composer Aaron Zigman. In addition to thrilling concert works, Zigman is perhaps best known for his romantic scores to The Notebook and Sex and the City: The Movie.
