Rotterdam Philharmonic: Rufus Wainwright

"Opera is my religion," says Rufus Wainwright. From the mouth of a different singer-songwriter, that might sound posturing, but Wainwright is in a class of his own. His "richly orchestrated, warm pop songs of sometimes cathedral-like size" (NRC) demand the accompaniment of a large orchestra.
